There’s nothing like sitting down to plan a wedding and being confronted by the long list of things that need to be organised. There’s the caterer, the beautician, the photographer, the place settings, the dress, the gift registry. It’s enough to make any bride-to-be give up before she even begins! Home decor retailer and specialist, the Linen Chest, decided to take the pressure off Montreal brides by hosting a wedding extravaganza that brought all the experts together in one place.
Brides were treated to seminars hosted by bridal registry expert Jorge Perez, who discussed how to choose the best gifts for the registry; and sommelier Guy Lenoir, who shed his knowledge on which styles of glassware to stock up on for the big day.
A beautiful selection of wedding clips and photos were on display at the Wedding Emotion kiosk where brides were given tips on how to best capture the memory of their special day. The company’s videographers made sure they were available to help answer any questions about the technical and stylistic aspects of shooting that perfect wedding video.
Lexon, KitchenAid, Le Creuset, Noritake and a host of other kitchenware brands were on hand to perform live demonstrations of their various products. Guests could stop by for a steaming cappuccino from one of Delonghi’s featured coffeemakers before checking out an expert culinary display by Shun Knives.
The icing on the cake was the haute couture fashion show featuring custom made wedding dresses by Montreal-based designer Mila Rivkin. A train of gorgeous young ladies made up by Jiselle Cosmetiques and St Laurent Coiffure, modelled styles ranging from demure lace to dashing red satin, a selection sure to cater to any bride’s taste.
Throw in an endless supply of catering samples and a professional bartender to dish out exquisitely fruity concoctions, and it was the perfect recipe for a fun, yet informative, afternoon.
The Linen Chest was founded in Montreal in 1961 and has continued to carry an extensive range of the home ware industry’s top brands and styles over the years. The store stocks products from international designers such as Kate Spade, Michael Aram and Vera Wang.
Due to its extensive home ware selection, the Linen Chest provides a state of the art wedding registry service which allows brides to list anything from bedding to dinnerware to electronics, saving them the trouble of opening registries with several stores.
What do you say, brides? Perhaps planning a wedding doesn’t have to be so overwhelming after all?
